Northampton Community Alliance for Responsive Education and Services empowers residents to engage in evidence-based civic debate, promotes transparency in local government, and facilitates responsive governance from local leaders through coalition building and nonpartisan civic education. 

Northampton CARES strengthens the fabric of our local democracy by empowering residents to participate in a culture of informed, evidence-based civic life. We believe a city thrives when its governance is transparent, services meet the needs of its residents, and community members are equipped with the facts necessary to engage in constructive dialogue.

Our work is built on three essential pillars:

• Coalition Building: We unite parents, neighbors, and local organizations to form a broad-based alliance. By fostering these collaborative partnerships, we ensure that the city’s direction reflects the diverse needs of the entire community and that every voice is truly heard.
• Civic Education: We are committed to the long-term vitality of our democracy through local, school-based civic education and community workshops. By providing residents and students with the tools to navigate complex local issues, we build the foundation for a more engaged and capable citizenry.
• Information Accessibility: We promote universal access to evidence-based content, translating complex data into clear, actionable information for all.
